I LOVED this book and think even gained more understanding about how we are all basically the same inside as far as our need for love and family
The adult version of this story was just amazing and I wanted to share it with my children. This version removes or tames the recounts of some of the more horrifying things that happened to the author while not losing the main story. I think the book is well geared for grades 5-8.
This was picked as a summer reading for 6-12 grade but the story is well worth the read. I could easily see this becoming a must read at all schools. I read this with my daughter and he perseverance shown in this book is truly one you must experience.
Both the book and the film are very touching. This true story is very well written and puts you in the shoes of Saroo who, as an adult, wants to find back his unknown biological family. With just a handful of memories, he succeeds in his attempt.
Truth is truly stranger than fiction. This would be considered an improbable tale as a work of fiction. The story rates 5 stars, and the writing gets a 3 in my view, which leads to the overall 4-star rating that I've given it. It's worth a read, even if you've seen the movie.
Very humane and moving. A must read!
An extremely moving true life story. A perfect compliment to 6th grade cultural study of India. The movie is excellent too!
But the autor repeat itself over and over and after become monotone. Tree stars is well done.
