Nothing like this. I loved my first copy of this, so much, that it inspired me to write my own books.

I own both of these books, as well as the author's later volume "The Grandmothers of Greenbush." I have cooked some magnificent meals with these recipes, and I have a personal connection, as many of the descendants of the people interviewed eventually lived in other parts of the city (Madison, WI)and the surrounding area, so I grew up with some of them.These recipes were born out of a truly iconic type of immigrant neighborhood in Madison. It was vibrant, rich with culture and tradition, and the community thrived.Sadly, it was eventually broken up by the "progress-minded" city fathers of the day, and a beautiful community was destroyed. But you can still enjoy the food and the memories with these wonderful books. 5 Stars!

It is not a "SCRATCH OFF" coloring book as the title suggests.I hate writing negative reviews, but the title of this book is very misleading. What I thought I was ordering, based on the title was a book of mandala prints that you scratch off with a stylus, usually wooden, that reveals the colors underneath the print. Hence the title "Mandala Scratch Off Coloring Book." There is no scratch off anywhere in this book so I am very confused as to why the author or publisher indicates it in its title.What this book actually is, is just your average, garden variety coloring book, so I'll give my opinion as such...Most of the prints are fairly simple designs. There are a few more intricate designs throughout the book, however each design is only approximately 6.25" which leaves a lot of wasted space on the page in my opinion. Which I guess could give a talented colorist room to add their own personal flair. The print quality is poor. Some prints suffer inconsistencies with the ink within individual designs that I don't believe to have been intended by the artist, and some designs may be difficult to see if the colorist has eye problems or who lack direct lighting.In looking at the designs displayed on the back cover, one would expect at least some of the designs inside the book to be a bit more intricate than what they are. In fact, none of the designs displayed on the back cover, nor the beautiful design shown on the front cover are anywhere inside the coloring book at all. Which is a shame in all honesty.All in all it's a fine 2-3 star coloring book of fairly simple mandala designs that I will probably put color to on some. However, a "Mandala SCRATCH OFF Coloring Book" it is not.

This is a total let down. The title says Scratch off. It would lead you to believe you scratch off the designs to reveal color under the coating. That is not what this is. The designs are nice I suppose but this is not what I was expecting. Very disappointed. There are 50 images printed on thin paper. There is nothing really special about it. I suppose if you enjoy coloring mandalas then you might like it but the name needs to be changed. This is so misleading.

The story was entertaining, intriguing, with just the right amount of suspense so that the reader could not wait to see what is going to happen in the next chapter. One did not have to wait a long time to get excited about the story. It was very real and it reminded me of something that could possible happen right here where I live. I was very pleased with how the whole story was concluded with no loose ends left to contemplate.I will recommend this book to anyone who like suspense and mystery with a twist. The author has a vivid imagination and I look forward to his next book.
