About the Author

An enjoyable and practical guide to the sights and towns along the Mississippi. It is short, barely 100 pages, so best to supplement it with the guides to states you plan to travel through.
Found some interesting things to discover on my way up the river from Louisville. Look forward to going downriver eventually.
This book covers our home territory so we will use it for years as a guide to "local" good places.
Difficult to use maps which don't clearly show the GRR.

Mediocre content. Very shallow coverage.The print is small enough that this old man had to pull out a magnifying glass to read the text.So much potential - this travel guide left out so much!
My husband and I just got back from using this very book on our trip along the Mississippi River. Although small in stature, this book was very helpful and gave us lots of great ideas, especially for people like us who like to get away from the major tourist-trap stops (although those popular attractions are also listed). We followed the GRR from Memphis to Natchez, MS.
