This is a nice download to have on your Fire 7. If I need help doing something I can just bring the book up and find out what to do. It's well written and does explain use in laymen's language. Can't remember the price but I do know it was just a few dollars. Well worth it.
As I had an original Fire, when I purchased the current (5th Gen) Fire I figured I knew how to get the most out of it. I was wrong. This book was through and concise with useful and easily understood tips. Wish I had bought it the time I purchased my Fire.
We use our Kindles off line a lot and have no help support when in the mountains away from wifi. This book is great for all the questions we have. This is our 3rd instructional book from Tom and Jenna. Thanks to you guys, my 80 something husband can do all kinds of fun activities with his new Kindle Fire.
Gave it five star because it is the best (only ?) available guide specifically for the fire 7 tablet....2 hours, well I am an old guy, and it took me upwards of a week to digest it,...but it is quite digestible about the second time around....It is well organized and I learned how to use this fantastic tablet pretty well.I do have a question about the Firefly apps that you make reference to on pages 43-44. The Amazon purchase page for this app indicates that It requires access to the flashlight, which this tablet does not have. I had no success with a similar QR & barcode reader, perhaps for the same reason (or what?)....Has anyone actually had good success with Firefly apps on the fire 7 tablet?As an update...I recently found an even better guide specifically produced for the kindle fire 7 tablet that really goes deeper and more clearly into the inner possibilities waiting to be found in the fire 7 ie: "All-new fire 7: the 2016 unofficial user guide (newbie to pro)"
Just spent my first hour and half trying to figure out how to link my mail--and to understand how to get the keyboard to appear--particularly when there is no "search" box in view, as in a Hotmail log-on link. I used to walk into offices as a temp, read a manual and accomplish a day's work on a totally unfamiliar computer back when there were dozens of different companies in the field--but this tablet is going to be tough to figure out even with this book. There are too many assumptions about a reader's familiarity with these devices which ain't necessarily so for many of us.I was hoping for a panacea for my confusion--but this $10 didn't do me one bit of good so far.
This really is a comprehensive essential guide. I read it and marked so many pages for reference!! I bought my sister the Kindle Fire 7 Tablet for a gift. I have a much older original Kindle Fire reader. So I ordered this to help us Both learn to take advantage of all the settings, apps, and uses in this Tablet. This guide is so easy to understand and makes setting up a new Fire 7 a breeze. It has a great trouble shooting guide. It walks the user through setting up their Wi-Fi internet connection, e-mail, and removing books from the device. This guide will be useful not just at set up but for reference down the road for sure. I highly recommend it.
If you purchased a Fire 7" , this is the book that gives you the info needed to make the most of your tablet. Straight talk with no tech words that can't be understood. Easy to understand for those of us who are not techies. This is not a "paid" review. I purchased a Fire 7 in mid-November and without this guide, I'd be lost. Very well written and I'd recommend it for my family and friends.
While this answers many Questions, I t doesn't answer the one thing I need most. How do I save my photo files to the expanded memory I bought?While the authors say I can send an e-mail to them , I wrote to ask how to find the firefly app the book says is in my fire tablet and this has gone unanswered forseveral weeks. To me that just makes rthis one of many mediocre books on this same subject.
I will keep this short, simple, and to the point: if you are even considering buying the new tablet from Amazon, you must get this book. With directions and tips that are concise, simple, and written in plain English instead of techo-babble that only a genius would understand, you need this book. As I plan on getting this tablet for my elderly mother for the holidays, giving her a copy of this easy to understand book will ensure that I get peace of mind and she will get the satisfaction of being able to handle "tech" on her own.
